In November 2025, Purity Wellness Care Foundation (PWCF) successfully carried out its Eye Care Initiative, a dedicated outreach program focused on improving vision health among the elderly in rural and underserved communities. The project provided free eye examinations, prescription glasses, treatments, and educational sessions designed to help seniors maintain healthy vision and prevent avoidable blindness.
Objectives Achieved
The initiative was designed to:
-
Identify and treat common eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and vision impairment among the elderly.
-
Provide free eye screenings and prescription glasses to those with visual challenges.
-
Educate communities on proper eye hygiene and preventive care practices.
-
Promote early detection and routine eye checkups as part of elderly wellness.
Project Activities
During the outreach, PWCF’s team of medical professionals and volunteers carried out:
-
Comprehensive eye tests and vision assessments for elderly participants.
-
Free distribution of prescribed glasses to improve vision and independence.
-
Treatment and referrals for individuals with advanced eye conditions.
-
Community education sessions on maintaining good eye health and preventing infections.
Impact
The Eye Care Initiative reached over 300 elderly beneficiaries, providing them with free screenings, corrective eyewear, and medical advice. Many participants expressed joy and gratitude, sharing how clearer vision has restored their confidence and ability to participate in daily life.
This project not only improved eyesight but also renewed hope — affirming PWCF’s mission to bring care, dignity, and wellness to the elderly across rural communities.
